I visited Switzerland on a two week hiking/climbing trip. On our first day we were exploring Zurich before the trip got started in earnest. We asked several of the gear shops in town where to get the best BETA on local climbing as it was difficult to locate before the trip. Every shop unanimously recommended we visit Piz Buch und Berg which we walked to. WHAT AN AWESOME SHOP!!!! OMG I was in climbing beta HEAVEN! This little shop had the guidebook for literally every international climbing destination I have ever visited. Its the most comprehensive climbing bookshop I've ever seen. Simply amazing guidebook selection. On top of that the shop proprietor took a lot of time to provide us local climbing advice, made my girlfriend a cup of espresso gratis to help with her jet lag, and was generally a really nice, patient instant friend.

This is hands down the best climbing bookstore I've seen. If you are in Zurich and have any interest in climbing rocks, you should stop by.

Also they had several guidebooks for my local US crags that I didn't know existed.

Best of the best.
