Firstly, this is not the hotel for you if you crave flashy modern interiors and are looking for Instagram bait. But then, if you want a hotel like that in Zurich it's horrifically expensive!

Still reading? Good, because here's why the Arlette is a great place to stay.

It's cheap and cheerful - by far the cheapest I could find in central ZH.

The staff are very friendly and helpful.

A basic but filling breakfast of bread, egg, cheese, croissant and jam is included in the price.

The location is perfect: 3 mins from the main station, right by the river and an easy walk down Limmatquai to the lake.

Personally, I would happily stay again :)

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. The staff is super nice and friendly, the hotel is sparkling clean and we also liked the breakfast. Also the location is excellent as it’s only 2 min walk from the Zurich Hauptbahnhof. The price per night is really good for Zurich as well. Highly recommend this place!

The single room is quite small, but the location definitely makes the stay here worth it. The staff is also super friendly and professional. I recommend!

Well suited and very quiet. I wish the (included) breakfast varies from day to day a little. But I'll definitely come back for my next trip to Zurich.

This is definitely a place JUST for location. The staff was mostly polite, though the old lady randomly coming up behind you is a bit awkward and she's there all the time. The bed was super run-down and uncomfortable, the bathroom didn't have an extractor or even a tiny window, my room had a dirty trash can and a half-drunk orange juice inside the mini-bar (although they gifted me an orange juice when I told them). The breakfast is some bread and coffee, a tiny amount of orange juice and a boiled egg. Everything else is €7, 9, or 10 if you want your eggs differently.

We liked this hotel! Very friendly and attentive owners. They are very nice. Clean and bright room. Better than the photos. Air conditioning + elevator are definitely added advantages to our stay. Free breakfast (lots of bread, including croissants, cream cheese, jams, butter, honey, etc.) with juice and coffee. They also provide a very detailed TV channel guide showing channels with different languages. Excellent location! Convenient and quiet. Just a few minutes walk to the main train station, about 5 minutes walk to the old town. This area is better than the old town. I would like to stay at this hotel again if I go to Zurich!
