Staff was mostly very kind and helpful. Bedroom was nice and spacious, really well laid out for the needs of disabled guests. Breakfast choice was good, suitable for a range of dietary requirements. The location of the hotel is quite central and close to a bus stop for those who prefer to use public transport insted of walking to the city centre.
However, the cleaning of the room seemed to be often done in a hurry.

Quick and easy reservation, check-in and check-out. There was a technics room where we could safely lock in our cycles. The hotel room was prepared with an extra couch for hosting three of us, therefore the space was a bit tight, but totally ok for one night. Breakfast was ok but not overwhelming.

Stinky room, so strong that even open window entire night didn’t clear much. not bearable. I paid $159, their highest rate for largest room but I don’t think they have larger room with one Queen and one twin but they only only have small rooms here. So they advertise wrong size rooms with online booking companies. Also they drop the prices 15-20% within hour. So take your time and last minute you get way better rate

Horrible staff!
My two friends and I stayed at Ibis Winterthur City in July 2022, and I have never encountered such rude staff in my life. Upon check-in, the lady at the front desk already gave such an attitude and was very unbothered! We requested for early check-in which was told earlier that it would be possible, which this lady proceeds telling us once we arrived that the room is not ready in a very passive aggressive tone. She kept on sighing and spoke in a super rude way to us, including my friends mom who was there to help us with check-in. My friends mom had a bit of a difficulty speaking English with the receptionist, and to my shock the receptionist starts laughing at her and continues to give judgy looks?? Completely unacceptable. Luckily my friend's mom was super friendly and sweet, and dealt with the receptionist in a kind way which avoided any dispute.

Would give 3.5 stars if available. Basic but adequate rooms painted dark colours- fresh colours would be better. Basic but plentiful breakfast. Were helpful providing free bus passes. Bit of a mix up over altered booking that took a while to resolve even though I had a confirmation email. Strong smell of cigarette smoke in first room.

The hotel was 20 minutes away from the city center. We stayed in a triple room and the room was really small and almost couldn't fit the 2 beds. The single bed was really uncomfortable and small, it was impossible to have a good night of sleep in that bed. The room was clean and the staff was nice. The breakfast was nice but it didn't have a lot of variety.
