I would have loved to leave 5 stars, as the room and staff were very nice. I would even say the room, in many ways, seems nicer than most 4/5 star hotels in the area for a comparable size.

What really makes it difficult to recommend this hotel is the lack of air conditioning. There’s also no screens on the windows, and of course during the summer there are plenty of bugs (mosquitoes and ants) being so close to the lake. This became very annoying from the first night, as we would frequently notice mosquito bites and mosquitoes in the room. Simply having screens on the windows would be the perfect solution.

As for the location of the hotel, we did enjoy the short walk to the lake and the 5 minute bus ride to the train station. The busses run frequently during the day (one every 10 minutes). The Lab is also located steps away from the bus stop. The easily accessible public transport made it the perfect base for exploring the region, I’d argue it’s even better than a hotel in the town center. Just be sure not to miss the last bus at night.

Hotel im perfect location in the city of Thun just next to the lake side (3 min walking distance).
They have garage available for the car and also breakfast available for the guest (we didn’t take it). The only thing I was missing in the option we choosed is that we didn’t have a fridge in the room, which is a bit unfortunate for the summer season. Otherwise I can really recommend, nice base for the trips to Grindelwald and in general to any top attractions in Berner Oberland.

Good:
Room is clean.
Toilet is clean.
Location is good, just next to bus stop
It has bus every 10 minute and just 3 minute from Thun train station.
Price is reasonable.
Staff is very friendly.
Keep temperature well in winter.
Have boil water machine inside room.

Bad:
-We stay for 5 night but they didn’t give new coffee and drinking water everyday. I’m not sure for policy there.
-Just one shrink pillow for each
-Room had not enough light

Overall ; great location, clean, reasonable price

Very cool rooms. Mine wasn't super big, but a very great use of the space, with many innovative solutions, and very new appliances. I really liked it; it's a nice change from conventional hotel rooms. The staff is also very friendly. Very good bread for breakfast ! Nice location steps away from the lake and also a 15' min walk from the station. Would definitely recommend.

This is one the most unique hotels in the whole Thun, so quite and very helpful staff at the reception, bus stop is just next to the hotel and the lake is less than 3 minutes walk.

Parking is available underground with easy access (Note: it is not included in the room price)

I had a lovely staying at the Lab Hotel. Despite being cheaper than most options in Thun there’s no compromise in cleaning, services and efficiency. The personnel is extremely kind and helpful whatever your request might be. If you are on a sports holiday, that’s 100% my most recommended place to stay.

I staid in one of their serviced apartments for 4 months at the end of 3 years in Switzerland for work. The staff at the hotel go above and beyond to make each guests stay comfortable and customized to their own needs. I can say with confidence that I will stay at the Lab Hotel every time I return to Thun for work or pleasure!
