The pizza is on point and the service is warm and welcoming. We have a wonderful time for our last dinner in St.Gallen. Location is a little difficult to find.

This is a nice, cozy little Italian restaurant. The staff is attentive and friendly, the food tasty and the prices very fair for Switzerland. They have a lunch special which is great. 15.50 CHF for pasta or 16.50 CHF for a large pizza (I recommend the pizza.) The special also includes a Bruschetta, a small salad and a coffee with a shot of Grappa or Amaretto. Definitely worth checking out.

Pasta was ok, but after we finished we were offered espresso by the server. "It's free with the meal" she said, but upon paying we found out it's only free if you also ordered a drink. Avoid this scam.

I have eaten here several times, and always an enjoyable experience. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. Food is fantastic and reasonably priced.

Chances are high that Bedo, the owner of the Vecchia Posta, knows you by name the second time you visit his new restaurant in down-town St. Gallen. And you will visit him a second time after you tasted his food and felt his hospitality.

Before even ordering he will serve you a little "amuse bouche", usually a typical italian antipasti. If you can't decide, just ask him for the daily special.. or take the filet on the hot-stone... or a pizza.

After the meal, he will offer you coffee and some italian schnapps.. the Italian tradition states, that it's on the house.

A nice little restaurant with a cordial host, close to the train-station in St. Gallen.
