Had a dinner at this place during the visit to Bern. The food is expensive, which is still ok if value for the money is present. For us: 300gr stake looked way smaller as we used to have in the croton restaurant in Germany, Beef salad didn’t contain any single piece of beef and 2 pairs of guests, who arrived after us an12small 2 persons tables were offered to move to bigger * 4 people to have some space for plates, though they arrived after us. We were never offered. If I pay 132 euro for dinner with no alcohol and no meat for one of two people, I would expect different service.

We shared the Swiss dry aged sirloin beef steak of 200 grams with grilled vegetables and bernaise sauce and the beef carapaccio between 2 people, paired with some merlot. The steak was cooked to perfection and flavored just right. The Irish beef carapaccio with celery truffle cream was the ideal summer starter.

Great cuisine where you can enjoy really delicious beef stakes. Really friendly staffs you can get nice and kind service. I had 200g of 'Swiss dry aged Grand cru Beef selection for Sirlion and was good ???? choice. Really recommend folks!
Will come again if come to Bern.

First and foremost, walking into the restaurant there were 6 people crowded around the front door smoking. Ya, I know it’s a huge problem in Switzerland. I live here and still can’t believe people don’t realize smoking kills you and those around you, pretty dumb…but a business doing nothing to push people a couple of meters from your entrance with a sign or recommendation sets a poor entry impression for patrons that don’t smoke. I almost didn’t walk in. Upon walking in, we were not greeted to be seated for several minutes, left wondering if we needed to do more. Our server was very personable and accepted that we had some food intolerances and said he would note this to the kitchen. The caesar salad, for 17 francs was very small, maybe 25 g of bacon and a few grams of parmesean. There was not much flavour, needed more lemon and anchovie, in my opinion, but the romaine was fresh and crispy, just wish there were a few more leaves to crunch on. Wish they brought us a salt and pepper grinder and had to reach to the next table over, service could have been a little more thorough. The biggest problem I had was that although I declared that I am diabetic and cannot eat any sugar (I am very strict low carb), my bison steak arrived on a plate with a sweet jus all around it and on parts of it. The eventual solution was to exchange the plate only, which I accepted because we had waited near 30 minutes for the steak in the first place then it took about 5 minutes for us to get a server’s attention to address the matter and then another 6-7 minutes to exchange the plate, meanwhile, my son was eating his filet (ordered medium, delivered rare). By the time my steak arrived back, my bernaise was cold and thickened and my green beans were also cold. At first, I let this all go because I didn’t want to cause a scene because I was having a nice one-on-one time with my son, but now, the next day I am much more annoyed and considering returning to complain more emphatically in person. Even as I write this review, I have downgraded the stars from 3 to 1. I felt the restaurant is trying to be high end, but it missed the target with me and I will not be able to recommend it or return for another meal.

What to say about The Beef. You want amazing tender beef than you have to go their. Nice beef selection from all around the world and the bison is great too. The side are really good. Service is tip top. The home made bbq sauce is really good. The 4 peices trail menu is a go to for sure. Would go back in a heart beat for sure.

We had the Wagyu Taste Menu. The food was very good. Staff was very kind and asked if we wanted to wait a few minutes before getting the main course.
