Nice food. Being an Indian and loving spicy food I would like the food as compared to other places. The ambiance was amazing. Garden views with nice winter sunlight made it awesome. Would give 5 stars to customer service too. The staff is cooperative and very well behaved. We had some questions regarding the Swiss traditions, that too the lady answered with so much patience.

Located in the middle of the Klein Schanze Park, the restaurant offers a great view, fresh air, a quiet location and fresh ingredients. The staff is courteous and the patrons are very friendly. Ordered a pasta and empenadas; for dessert two muffins.

Great location alongside a park, with views in the city centre. Outdoor terrace so great when the weather cooperates. If not they have awnings to provide some cover. The penne pasta I had was tasty and as good as a simple dish like this can be.

Great place, but on the expensive side and extremely slow service.

The food was good but some of the items are definitely overpriced. Plus, they make you pay 5 CHF for one liter of tap water. Well, technically not the water itself, since that's illegal, but for the "service" of the tap water - even on top of everything else you order. So friendly tip - take your own water!

Service: slow and not friendly at all. Really regret and resent paying CHF 15.00 for the worst Caipirinha of my life. Very disappointing and rude reaction upon saying something about it politely. The atmosphere at night is nice though.

In the spring my girlfriend and i had dinner here. She ordered the mixed vegetables with the saffron dressing and i ordered the special tortellini with a creamy "bärlauch" sauce. Her vegetables were over cooked and there was no dressing on them. When we ordered dressing they brought us vinegar with so much saffron in it it tasted like furniture polish. My sauce tasted good but was watery and i had about 8 tortellini in my bowl.

The position and their wines being as good as they are we decided to try again. I ordered the gnocchi with a tomato and pepper sauce and my girlfriend the salad bowl with chicken. My gnocchi were brought luke-warm. The gnocchi themselves were so floury that i had to practically scrape a layer off of my tongue. The sauce tasted like it came from a jar and they added some red and yellow peppers. The salad was at least edible but it was hard to tell if it was also just bought from a migros shelf. The restaurant seems to be understaffed as well considering the food arrived before our wine did (i assume the food was just put in the microwave). This experience cost us 75 CHF (3 glasses of wine, an ice tea and the food).

Its a shame really because they are friendly, its a beautiful location perfect for summer evenings and as I said: their wine selection is great.

This Café is a small oasis located right next to the Bundeshaus. I recently stopped by after doing some shopping with my family. You'll find all kinds of people here; families with kids, students, business people etc. It's also a good place to recover from a city walk - if you're a tourist visiting Bern, looking for a place to relax and would like to stay close to the Bahnhof, this is a great alternative. Make sure to check the view from the Bundesterasse (if you haven't already).
