Great location, friendly staff, new equipment. Saunas are great too! Only downside is that it's very much overcrowded after 16:00. Waiting times for machines are to be expected then.

Sunday morning 9AM and it’s closed because they didn’t set their alarm to come open the gym. No one can get a hold of anyone in the fitness.

This used to be one of the best, maybe the best gym in Bern, but since the re-branding and change in management it's taken a turn for the worse. The current promotion of bring-a-friend-for-free (every day in February) is a logistical disaster resulting in hopeless overcrowding in the locker rooms and in the training areas in the afternoons and evenings. Well done guys!! the place now really has that sardines-in-a-can feeling. You have to queue to use the machines, and the popular weights and benches are not available. A training session that previously might have taken 45 mins now takes 90 mins, with all of the add-on being waiting around. While I'm sure that Migros Management is rubbing their hands in glee at the prospect of all the new paying members that they hope this will eventually haul in, it's being done at the expense of existing members, especially those who can only train later in the day. It's a pretty shabby manoeuvre actually. We're disappointed. We discussed the situation at home and have decided that if the overcrowding does not drastically improve in March we will be cancelling our memberships and I will be encouraging friends in Bern to consider doing the same.
I was tempted to take some photos of the sardine action and post them with this review so that folks can see for themselves what the conditions are like now. Out of respect for the privacy of my fellow trainees I decided however not too.

Spacious and clean.
The toilets and showers are clean, the lockers can be cleaner.
The instructors are friendly and helpful.
The location is great.
So far I'm happy, will see how things evolve as I haven't had my personal training session to set my program yet.
Will keep you guys posted.

overall average

nice entry & reception
average weight machines (rather cheap quality)
very narrow & stinky inside (too many people in the room, barely space to walk in between the wheights)
over priced for what it is
spa is pretty fine, but one room was not working

I have to change my initial fairly positive review. I am very upset to discover that they have decided to add a TRX class in the already overcrowded free weight space...during rush hour. Yesterday, someone fell on top of me while I was doing plank. It is a seriously bad decision and I am not happy about it. That was their solution to optimise the area? By making it impossible for people to work out there??

I have contacted management and they will do nothing about it, I will continue to escalate as much as possible.
