Disappointed because at first I was quite happy here. Until I was actually verbally insulted. It's fine that the Risk Management team reigns under outdated, falsely informed, and stigmatised opinions because hey, we're in a capitalistic society. But at least be sensitive to your customers and learn how to communicate right. Don't call me names, is all I'm asking. I was rejected for updating my plan, which would actually mean more money for them but whatever, which I could never have benefitted from more than any other person who has that plan. Only because I have preexisting conditions that have NOTHING to do with the additional benefits from an upgraded plan. Get your facts right, I can send you scientific studies if you want. And don't call me names.

I have been with SWICA since 2009 and always had a good assistance and outstanding customer service until this morning when I came across a very rude and passive aggressive woman that decided to give me sarcastic and derisive answers. So, I have decide to leave SWICA for good.

My wife and I have been a insured with Swica since April 2014. Innitially, we have been happy with the service: however, since mid 2018 their service, support and level of information has declined significantly. Hence, if you have been told, that Swica is the place to go for higher than average support, claims handling and english language capability, this is no longer the case:

- In the last 8 months we have experienced multiple issues with claims and denial of payments. When engaging in a dialog, we get as many different answers as the number of calls we make. Some of this is clearly linked with the lack of proper english capabilies but also a lack of understanding own policies and risk coverages.
- Even though we have disputed certain cost sharing invoices, Swica will continuesly send reminders and threating debt collection proceedings. Either an extremely agressive behaviour towards otherwise loyal customers or an apparent lack of cross checking records within their own teams. I hope for the later.
- They will also postpone coverage payment without any proper explanation, e.g. reference to insurance policy clauses etc., and although you engage with their customer service teams through numerous emails they would rather be condencending and arrogant than actually go and have a look in their own policies to double-check whether their approach is justified.

Worst of all, they are completely immune to customer feedback. Their customer service teams are not service teams, rather they seem to take pleasure in being arrogant and condensing and without any desire to actually support or see the perspective of their customers.

If you are making a choice of whether to go with Swica, and you think that their service might be a compeling reason to go with them, I would tell you to really think twice. My personal advice would be to stay away...

Was 5* until 2018. Since 2019 with moving to online app most payment claims have been refused. Postal reimbursement of paid bills was never an issue before. Also client does no more get a helpful feedback when needed. The focus on social media/mobile is a step into the wrong direction as it let the classic custom interaction deteriorate. Within 5 years also the fees increased by 10% every year....in Basel City this means more than 500 CHF every month for a single person.

Not being able to pay with Paypal in the year 2022 made me leave Swica.
