We arrived here and tried to sit at the bar. The barman (in his mid 50s with some tattoos and grey hair) told us to move to the end of the bar because we would be in the way of him making cocktails (that's a pretty weird way to welcome people).

I then ordered a margarita while my girlfriend decided on what she would like.

He didn't make it. Instead he did some other things around the bar and then sat with some people who seemed to be his friends on a table. Nearly 10 minutes had passed and I mentioned to someone doing the glasses if he could get us some drinks. He was so nice and really apologetic.

But I'm afraid the damage was done. This guy really needs to learn how to offer people good service or his bar will just go downhill with reviews like this.

Poor.

I took an amaretto sour which was pretty good (maybe a little bit too sweet) and my BF took a NY sour which was bad (first the bartender didn't know what's in this cocktail and secondly they didn't have any white eggs anymore (in a cocktail bar!)).

Had the best time - visar is the best bartender. If you want my life come here and if you want good service this is the place to go. Have never had a bad experience here and have lived here for 9 years !!!❤️????????

A super cozy place. I appreciate the music, which wasn’t too loud nor agressive. The bartenders’ openness and creativity is worth a special mention - together with my friends we only ordered „special” drinks not included in the menu, and every single time we were pleasantly surprised with delicious, brilliant mixes and cocktails, which just perfectly matched our festive birthday mood.

I and my sister arrived in Basel on Sunday when pretty much everything is closed so we decided to check out ”Club 59” and I would say - we will definitely be back! Staff was amazing and extremely welcoming. Would like to point out 2 girls - Jennifer - who made us come back on the next day and Daria- who made us want to stay in there for several hours ???? and introduced us with the best snacks and drinks! We left ”Club 59” with the best experience possible. It's really rare to find such friendly and helpful staff in Switzerland.
Btw on quiet day like Sunday - ”Club 59” would be quite a good place to be. I recommend this place 100%

Nice and cozy little bar with a nice assortment of drinks, wines and cocktails. During winter time do not sit at the first left table immediately next to entrance cause too chilly permanently due to guests coming in/out
