Lovely, private hospital offering excellent care and service.

The restaurant in the lobby has a nice bar that offers lactose-free milk for coffee. The servers are friendly and service-oriented. When I visit my doctor, I always stop by the bar for a good coffee before continuing on my way.

Even if the reviews scared me,I fully trusted my Doctor Lucian Stroie and I deceived to have my second baby in this amazing private clinic! I have no words of gratitude for the personal,they make you feel save and protected. I definitely recommend this place.

I couldn’t be more grateful that we chose Bethanien as the birthplace for our first child, born 18.11.22. My labour was led by the amazing team of mid-wife Fabienne & Dr Lacoste and our son was born into a space of calm & kindness, naturally & unmedicated, exactly as I hoped my birth experience would be. The 5 days that followed were fantastic, we had 5* service & the full 24hr support of a wonderful team of mid-wives & doctors. The food was tasty too :-) a huge thank you to you all!

The birth experience was unpleasent and below our expectations. We felt under time pressure, and it felt like the midwife was trying one thing after another to make it work quickly and when it did not (after ~6h), a c-section seemed to be necessary.

The post-partum (Wochenbett) was however in line with our expectations (that is why 2 stars)

Just a few points why we were not satisfied:

Intransparent communication: I was told to stay in our room while my partner was undergoing a quick examination, however the midwife broke her waters during this time

Time pressure to give birth: my partner felt under pressure from the midwife from the start that if birth does not advance a c-section would be necessary, multiple manuel interventions were done as a consequence

Our requests seemed not heard: we asked for an ultrasound to see how the baby was positioned, however the midwife firmly insisted she knew exactly where the baby is

Absolutely world class clinic. Top personel & infrastructure. I cannot be more thankful for the 1 week stay of the birth of our daughter Kaia Maria. We have been in the best luxury hotels in this world and this place can it easley keep it up with them. Our true and honest appreciation to the entire team from reception, hospitality, restaurant, and the unbelievable cordial and top skilled/competent midwifes and doctor teams. Wow!

I'm a DC-based nationally known health advocate and attorney.

Despite many available choices, my wife and I decided to fly to Privatklinik Bethanien in Zurich for several surgeries because its doctors were the very best we could find anywhere.

Also, unlike most US hospitals which often discharge patients the day after surgery, Bethanien had her stay longer where her vitals were checked several times a day, we both enjoyed real food (not typical "hospital food"), and she was able to receive post-op therapy in her room.

Most importantly, when she experienced extreme pain late at night, the nurses were able to provide prompt effective pain relief - something which would not have happened in the U.S.

Highly recommended and even worth a trip from the US if you want the best!

My wife and I did a birth preparation course at the Bethanien clinic, and found it very useful and well organised!

Kiely was a great instructor, with a lot of room for questions and discussion. The two day course also included a delicious lunch in the excellent restaurant of the clinic.
