Stayed there one night recently. Nice location.
Clean and comfortable rooms.

Nice upgraded decent sized rooms for Zurich standards. Had to deal with not having hot water one of the mornings due to some technical issue and wish the staff were more helpful in arranging for alternative solutions given the very cold winter morning. The breakfast spread was not as exciting and the baked items were cold and dry.

I stayed at this hotel for one night due to a business trip. The bathroom was a good size and overall the bedroom was also a good size and well equipped. The floorboards however did creak a lot when walking around the room and you could also hear the water running through the waste pipes from the other rooms. The curtains in my room were really bad at blocking out the outside light even at night. However, the bed and the pillows were very comfortable and it was a pleasant sleep. I did need to ask the hotel for a adapter so I could charge my phone and laptop (as the shape of the plastic end of EU plugs are different to those of Switzerland), I was given an adapter and was told it would be a 20 euro deposit but the night staff working at the hotel. However, once I was back in my room, I realised that the adapter I was given to use still didn't fit into the Swiss sockets.
Overall the stay was good and the breakfast was also good with lots of options.

Nice hotel within the old city. Walkable distance to Zurich Train Station, Lidenhof, Grossmunster, Fraumuster, Swiss national museum etc.

Rooms were clean and well maintained. Staff were very cordial and helpful. Breakfast was decent and fresh.

Rooms are slightly small for 3 persons but considering the location it is manageable.

Close to everything things ( public parking, supermarkets, restaurants/cafe and main attractions)

Location is 5 mins walk from Zurich hb train station, no steps in between, hence quite an easy walk. Right opposite there is a Thai takeaway and migros takeaway which is amazing for cheap meals!

After staying in Zermatt, lucern hotels, this is the only hotel that provides full amenities such as razor and body lotion!

Amazing wifi and has free bicycle rental. Reception is super helpful and friendly..they have tie up with tour agents and you can sign up directly with them which was very convenient for us!

Hotel City Zurich

//GOOD:
-- excellent location; local trams, the main train station, the waterfront, and the old town are all within a very short walking distance
-- reliable, fast wifi; it stayed connected for our entire trip
-- rooms were clean, modern and cozy
-- complimentary espresso maker in room
-- super clean property; no litter spotted anywhere
-- excellent staff on my visit; so friendly and accommodating
-- most of the desk staff is bilingual and being able to speak English was a major stress relief (much appreciated)
-- fast elevator
-- rates are very competitive; excellent value, in my opinion

//CAUTIONS:
-- regarding rooms with a bathtub; many have mentioned that the tubs are small and I can confirm this as true; everything is spotless and worked well on my visit, but that tub is very narrow; this is not a big deal if you are slim, otherwise you might be smothered between the wall and shower curtain
-- the elevator is literally the size a phone booth; it's super fast, but only enough room for one person and one bag

//SUMMARY:
The "cautions" mentioned above are typical of a hotel in a big city. I highly recommend this hotel as it is a solid choice taking location, cleanliness, and friendly staff into consideration. The extra cost for the breakfast seemed expensive, but I cannot comment on the value as I didn't utilize this amenity. This is a review from a United States tourist visiting Switzerland for the first time.

Hotel was clean and well located. Air conditioning was not as advertised, and room wouldn't cool past 24C. Paid for the upgraded room, and had a view of the trash bins. Overall, price and location were good, room was clean and well kept, but if you're sensitive to temperature and humidity, I'd look elsewhere.
