No English menu so it was a bit of a struggle but alas. Food was good. Service, fantastic. Caters mainly to locals. This serves as cheaper alternative to other restaurants in the area. If you're looking for Swiss, feel-good comfort food, Gambrinus is not a bad option.

It was ok. Not expensive, good portions, friendly staff. I didn’t really like the cordon bleu, it was very dry, maybe overcooked? The rösti was also falling apart, it was basically just grated potato, and sometimes a bit too burnt. Not sure if it’s maybe supposed to be like that.
The Kalb meat was delicious though!
I also really liked the bouillon, just perfect after spending time in the cold.

Typical swiss cuisine. Very clean restaurant, cordial employees and the price are awesome for what you get!! I would definitely reccomend it! I'm planning to come back for sure.

This is a very sympatic restaurant! Home Made Cordon Bleu! We love the service! Very friendly and you feel like a King. The prices are for the quality of food very nice! You can’t find a better place in Zurich! This is a Local People Secret Restaurant! Enjoy!

Great Swiss/German dishes. Reasonable but in a neighborhood not suitable for kids. Loved the restaurant and worth the trip.

This restaurant is in the Langstrasse neighborhood, which is next to the Old Town. The place is more of a gasthof, which serves beer and traditional food in a family-table setting. There is a nice beer selection (we had the local beer), and the food straightforward, Swiss/German. We had the schnitzel, one breaded and the other roasted with an herb/butter sauce. Both were well-made and served very quickly. The other people in the restaurant appeared to all be locals; we were the only tourists there. Our meal, including the beers, was less than CHF60, which was twice as less than a restaurant in Old Town. The one issue is that the staff only spoke German; although my dinner mate spoke the language, it may be an issue for other tourists who do not speak German. This is a very straightforward, local restaurant, and is recommended if you want to get away from the expensive tourist restaurants of Old Town.

Well priced (for Zurich), attentive service and the Hurlimann house beer is very good. Nice authentic Zuricher fare, I've tried their Kalbsgeschnetzeltes (which you'll struggle to find at a better price in town) and their house speciality Tessinerschnitzel, both were excellent. I will definitely eat here again next time I'm in town.
