authentic swiss cheese fondue experience.

the restaurant was very lovely.
once the restaurant opens people fill the spot real quick.

reservation is needed

they only served one main dish on the menu. the cheese fondue.

the owner really took care of us. give suggestion and teaching how to eat cheese fondue properly. :)

sadly, the portion was too big for asian people and we could not eat it all. what a shame

Fondue was one of the first things on my list for Switzerland, so I had looked forward to our visit to Fribourger Fonduestübli.

The restaurant was nice and had the Swiss charm. We opted for the half and half fondue which is two cheeses mixed with wine and kirsch. We originally ordered the more mild option as we are not fans of Kirsch, but she kindly offered to do it without. We thoroughly enjoyed it but found it quite mild so I am glad she made the recommendation for us.

The potatoes were cooked perfectly and we had fun eating the fondue from the pot. Even as a cheese lover it got a bit much having so much cheese, so I highly recommend getting the optional gherkins and pickled onions to cut through all of the cheese a bit.

This fondue did not let us down.

Very nice restaurant with serving traditional swiss cousine one of those Foundue Fribourg is a special dish (I suggest to enjoy with kirsch liqueur)
To complete the meal, the addition of the meringue confers sweetness and delicacy to the whole.
What to say about service: excellent

Best fondue ever! The local couple next to us recommended that we order a glass of kirsch to dip the bread in before dipping in the fondue and that was phenomenal. Would definitely go again if I ever come back to Zurich!

Very traditional fondue and off the beaten path. I was the only non native I’m sure. They were busy but seated me with another group of locals who where nice and left me alone. German speaking but accommodated my English and helped me through the subtleties of eating fondue (e.g. stirring the bottom so it doesn’t burn). The place was as homey and gorgeous as the food… will definitely go back during the appropriate (winter season).

Went there for fondue with colleagues as they were visiting Zürich for the first time. We really enjoyed fondue, wine, and dessert. The restaurant is rather small but cosy.

Had dinner and the food was good and service also good. Our only complaint was poor air circulation and very hot inside. Should open the windows or door and get fresh air. All tables of course have a heat source and the restaurant is popular and very crowded. I recommend but again would ask to let in fresh air.

US Traveller - first time trying fondue.

We came on a Friday evening for dinner without a reservation and didn’t need to wait. We got the fondue with the pickles and pickled onions. They did not charge for tap water which was nice. Docking a star because service was slow and my partner said it was hot inside. I also feel like this is a spot where the locals go because I felt like people were staring at us during our meal…

Personally, I prefer eating raclette over fondue as it’s a bit better balanced but it was good to try while I was in Zurich.
