Only a few minutes from Appenzell, A simple hotel perfectly situated in a hiker’s paradise. Friendly staff, very clean rooms with comfortable beds, toiletries and a decent breakfast is included. We will definitely be back.

Great food, perfect after a hike to the Seealpsee. The Schnitzel with mixed salad is delicious. They also had good non alcoholic beer (Sonnwendlig) and ice cream. Friendly service. We only came to eat.

Stayed here at short notice after I got too tired to take the train back and it was perfect for my needs. I only wanted something basic so took the single room which had a single bed and sink with a shared shower and toilet in the same floor. Everything was very comfortable and had a great sleep. I also had dinner in the restaurant and took the Kotelett. Delicious and very generous portions. Also took the soup off the day and the ice cream. The owners were great, incredibly friendly and familiar with the area. Would definitely recommend.
Its situated at the bottom of the mountain 5 minutes from the railway station and its a great connection to the walking trails or the Ebenalp cable car

Staffs are friendly but i could tell a little indifference towards us because we are asian (probably).
Food is average but at a fair price.
I think this place would make a great stop for a drink after a long hike. I love how it's located right under the cliff.

Such a nice place!! I was lucky enough to eat here the day before they closed for the season. Couldn’t have had a better experience! Super authentic, cozy, food was delicious & really friendly staff too! Viele Grüße aus Kanada und alles gut in 2022 :)

Excellent place. It resides right next to the Wasserauen Bahnhof and in the beginning of the Seealpsee trail. Wonderful environment. Gives the Vibe of Appenzell.

Went there to get some food after a longer hike. The food was very good and the prices were fair.
The waitress was also nice.

Good place to stop by for a beer after a long hiking day.
The staff is very nice and the are disinfecting the tables thoroughly before serving the drinks or the food.
