Absolutely my favorite coffee house/pastry shop in Solothurn, even though there are several other excellent choices. The reason I always return here is the wonderful selection of fresh fruit pies and tarts. As a health care provider, there is nothing more exciting than combining the deliciousness of a dessert with the healthfulness of fresh fruits. Of course, their other pastries and Belegte Brötchen (open sandwiches or tapas) are also fabulous, and the view up front is sensational!

The Kaffeehalle has the best Gipfeli (croissants) in town in a lovely atmosphere. It's an institution. We've been coming here for 25 years -- long before the renovation, and my husband's family even longer. Wonderful Swiss-style cakes, pastries, deserts, sandwiches, lunches, muesli and house specialities. The service is very professional, and several servers are quite friendly, which is not always the case in Swiss restaurants. Don't be fooled by the few seats at the front near the pastry counter; there is ample seating in the back.

The best place in Solothurn for tasty food. I love the service, they are super friendly and polite. Would definitely recommend it and come back again ☺️

Very big place. But very busy on Saturday afternoon. Hectic. The coffee wasnt very nice. The sundae was lovely! Service was good.
