We had a great time at the restaurant of the Hotel des Balances. We were seated right next to the river and had a beautiful view of the famous Kapell bridge. The menu and the drinks were delicious! The prices are fair for Switzerland. Would recommend!

Location is superb (u003c10 min from train station) and so close to all the main sights of Lucern. Our room was exceptionally clean..! Which is rare to find these days… The beds were very comfy too! Our floor had a filtered water fountain, which is so much better than the water bottles you get normally.

The lobby has a balcony area overlooking the water and the bridges and it was a lovely place to rest and people watch! The hotel also has a Michelin star restaurant!.

We stayed two nights here and very pleasantly surprised by this hotel’s staff and service all around. Impeccable attention to detail. From the girls at the reception, to the room service/housekeeping- everyone was very courteous and anticipated our needs without having to ask. Everything was smooth. That is a next level service in my opinion. Not very common though otherwise, which makes this hotel stand out. Our suite was very comfortable too- beds, pillows, complimentary slippers and fine toiletries, automated blinds… and more! Location is excellent too, although we did not get a room with a river view, still, we were very happy. We highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Des Balances for making our stay outstanding ????

This one is just for the restaurant-
I’m so glad we chose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary dinner. We had the best time with the amazing view, friendly staff, good food and so many thoughtful gestures from table confetti to a sparkly dessert and chocolates as well to make our anniversary special. Thanks for making our evening more memorable.

The Balances Restaurant is amazing! We were fortunate to get a table walking in just an hour before their dinner menu started. The staff was friendly and attentive. We are all vegetarian and every dish was exquisite! We had a wonderful experience!

Location was great, right on the river, with excellent views of the Alps, directly across from the monastery, We were able to walk to all of the places we wished to see and restaurants we wished to eat at. The room was tiny but most are in Europe. A big pro was that the shower was walk-in and not the tub/shower combination. I loved the lamps in the room and the crystals hanging from the ceiling LED lights in the hallway. And the balcony was large enough to sit on and enjoy the view.
I would highly recommend this place
This hotel was better than we ever expected.

Beautiful hotel both on the exterior and the interior. Although the building was old, the traditional architecture was really beautiful and added a really warm feeling to it. On top of it, we booked the Double room with river view and indeed we woke in the morning to an amazing view of the river and the mountains in the background.

This is one of the nicest hotel stays I have ever had. The hotel is in a central location close to restaurants, train station, etc. The staff was so kind to help me plan excursions. The room with balcony and view was incredible. I ate dinner in the restaurant one night, wonderful service and high end culinary experience. I can’t recommend this place enough!
