The building contains a 369 degree painting of the beaten French army fleeing and being cared for and entering Switzerland. The exhibit has a booklet to read about what you are seeing. It exhibit also contains 3-D images that blend from the painting to the area closest to you. It is very nicely done.
It is not for everyone, but if you like dioramas, it’s great. Discounts for seniors and if you have other passes it’s free. The facility has a restaurant.

This is the second panorama I have seen. The other at Gettysburg.
This was more reflective and contemplative in its space.

Staff were helpful, and the interactive explanations really brought the panorama to life.

It was good to learn a bit more "local" history and also more about the history of panoramas around the world.

You get free entry to this museum with Swiss Travel Pass, otherwise you need to pay a nominal fee. The museum itself is not quite huge, consisting only of a 360 degree painting depicting the Bourbaki army and their loss in the war. However, it is quite a surreal experience sitting admist the museum and reading about the history of the war, as well as the details of the painting. Highly recommend to visit this place together with the Lion Monument and Glacier Garden.

In these days of 3d virtual realities when ancient battles can be brought back to life through computer graphics a still panorama feels a little anachronistic. On the other hand it is a giant one and you get a sound accompaniment with a narrative that explains what you see. Additionally you can rent mobile devices with earphones to dig even deeper in the historical facts.

The atmosphere of this place is really nice. I love the documentaries and films that are shown here. The bar/café is a must experience. Friendly & fast service. Bourbaki not only has a few stores with watches etc but a café come bar, a must-see museum, a library and of course movie theatres. I love visiting this place and it's one of the renowned places in Luzern.

Got tickets as a part of a packsgr with tickets to the Glacier museum. My second favorite exhibit in the area (Glacier museum, Bourbaki Panorama, Lion monument).

A historical event I knew very little about (USA nationality) and found very interesting. Also the sheer size of the painting and model integration is very impressive.

I recommend listening to the explanation of the event/painting which can be found in English.

Haven't seen anything like it before. Really impressive painting and story about the Franco Prussen war. Must see in Lucerne.

It is pointing to almost 200 old history which is still actuall. War and imigration ...impresively done!
