The service at the breakfast was really good.
Even it was completely full and a coffee machine was available, the staff asked for making a special espresso.
I love it :)

beautiful spacious room and balcony... great bathroom, comfortable bed, roof patio very nice, great water view, friendly staff, good breakfast buffet, next door to excellent spaghetti/pizza restaurant, check out time is noon if you book online!

Our room was extremely small. We could hardly move. There was maybe 14 inches on one side of the bed. Vacations by Rail blocked off these rooms & did not get what they paid for in this room. It was inn unacceptable!! . Of course ,there were no other rooms available!!
Like a closet!!

Good position on the lake front, though noisy road immediately in front of hotel. Lovely room with balcony, great views, very central. Good breakfast, plenty of nearby restaurants including a very friendly one underneath the hotel. Can unload outside, parking in nearby underground carpark.

Stunning views of lake Lugano from the balcony. The rooms were very clean with comfortable beds. The concierge was incredibly helpful with finding places to go around town. The complimentary breakfast lasts until 1030 and had a great selection of food. The Hotel Walter is just a short walk from many fine places to eat or just window shop. Another plus for me was the quality of the water pressure from the shower. I can’t wait to visit Lugano again and I will absolutely be staying at the Hotel Walter!

We stayed at the hotel only for 1 night during our Christmas holiday in 2021. The hotel manager upgraded our reservation for free and gave us a room with a balcony with exceptional view to the lake which we appreciated a lot! They also provided us with the ticino tickets which included free local transportation, access to museums and better price in some activities etc. We wished the breakfast to have more choices. The staff was very friendly and kind, always with a smile and helpful. It is a bit expensive for the quality of the rooms (they need to be updated but I guess they keep this style on purpose) but the location is fantastic!

The hotel lies directly at the lake (just a street between). There is also a rooftop terrace with a beautiful view! The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

The room and the bathroom were super clean and the staff was very friendly. The view to the lake is great and the hotel also has a rooftop terrace with an awesome view. Breakfast is also good with plenty of choices. I recommend to book directly from their website as you will also get a pass for all buses and trains in Ticino for the duration of your stay. Even though it looks like an old hotel, it’s too well maintained and doesn’t show it’s age.
