What a wonderful and unpretentious museum! Works are beautifully organized and exposed. This is my second visit in 30 yrs and I’m still baffled by the stories and the creativity of human beings without any kind of art formation, totally free of dogmas, trends and commercial interests. This is the proof that the human species is naturally and intrinsically a creative being. The staff is very friendly. Marvelous!!! Thank you monsieur Jean Dubuffet! ????????????

Please visit this museum. If nothing else, it's one of a kind, as no other museum shows Art Brut.
They have kids workshops so they can absorb techniques and new methods of expressing themselves

2-3 hours is sufficient for the typical art enthusiast to sample this diverse buffet of artworks many by self taught artists exploring their passions. Our 16 year old daughter begged us to go. We didn't regret it. We loved it!

I loved my visit to this fascinating museum. Although relatively small, the museum is presented and maintained in a polished, professional way. I visited on a weekday morning, and it was not busy at all. The atmosphere was calm, relaxed and respectfully quiet, but not austere. Although there is trauma and tragedy in the stories of a lot of the artists and artwork, there is plenty of fun and colour to be found, too. I experienced moments that were variously disturbing, sobering, uplifting and inspiring. The most pervasive sense left by the collection as a whole is of passion, self-expression and individuality.

The museum provides interesting biographical information about the artists in both French and English. The collection spans a good range of mediums and dates of creation. Refreshingly, women artists are well represented. It takes around two hours to casually view the collection. There is another couple of hours worth of documentary video footage available for viewing. For a museum of this quality, the tickets are good value.

Best museum in Lausanne! The collection is unbelievable and unparalleled. The art is compelling and the stories of the people that made it are very interesting. Its a must visit!
