A nice cheap hotel that us greatly located in at 10 minutes of the train station. The rooms are clean but a bit small. The staff is always extremely polite and helful.

In a good spot. Shared bathroom which we already knew but bed was not comfy. They need new mattresses a bit thicker then would be perfect. Clean enough and liked being able to come and go with the code rather than a key.

Location is perfect. Walking distance from train station, lake and old town. It is not 5* hotel, you get what you payed for. But room was nice and clean and also bathroom was in good condition. We only spent there one night and it was good enough.

Positive: The small room was nice and the location great. Negative: On my second to last day, when the toilet was flushed, water dirty water would come up through the drain in the shower, which would then cover the shower floor in bits of feces. I bathed in the sink in my room. :(

As stated in other reviews, the rooms and facilities have seen better days. The only saving grace was the level of service received. The young man on reception (Samuel, I think) dealt with my numerous complaints with great professionalism, patience and courtesy. Many of the issues were clearly outside of his control, however this poor guy was going above and beyond to try to improve the overall guest experience.

Not as horrific as people have said, fine in a pinch but you can do better. There are much nicer rooms with private bathrooms for similar prices in the area. I should have just looked longer, but it was ok for a night.
+ The room was small but clean, the receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful, great location, easy access with code at night, bathroom was clean
- Noisy street at night but then if you close the window it gets too hot, our shared bathroom was being remodeled so had to go a flight up or down

No frills stay at Hotel St Gervais. Very old building and interior. While our room was clean and comfortable, it was extremely hot with no fan/AC at night (windows did not help). The shared bathrooms were really dirty with urine all over the toilet seat. On the plus side, it is in a fantastic location - walking distance to the train station and everything else. With a bit of cleaning and sprucing up, this place could shape up to be a great stay for a budget traveler.

For the price, in Geneva, a good find, if you’re after the basics such as safety, cleanliness, and simplicity. Towels, a comfortable bed, a window that opens, a room basin. A tiny lift will get you to your floor. No breakfast these days and reception closes 3PM, but everything worked fine.
