Check-in was easy and our room was comfortable. The only thing lacking in the room itself was a European-style plug point, though we found 1 near the TV on our last day. All the other sockets were Swiss 2-pin or 3-pin and incompatible with other shapes.
This is a significant lack in a 4* hotel, though the USB charging points were a good idea.

I should also mention that the bathroom mirror was not heated (to avoid misting over) so it was virtually impossible to shower and then do anything requiring a mirror.
The mixer tap in the bath was good quality, but not thermostatically controlled. The disadvantage is obvious.
Also the shower area was screened off by a glass screen (OK) which was much too small to keep the water from spreading to the floor unless extreme caution was used. A longer screen or a curtain would be much better.
Finally, the amenities provided were extremely limited. We travel a lot in Japan where everything is provided in even the simplest of hotels : razors, toothbrush and toothpaste, cotton buds, shower cap, bathrobe etc. We can't expect Japanese standards in a (much more expensive) European hotel (it seems) but my wife would have liked cotton buds at least.
I'll end on a positive note: the Nespresso machine in the foyer was a lovely surprise and I enjoyed excellent coffee every day as a result.

We were in Mercure Plaza Biel for the 2nd year in a row as we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year. All staff members are very helpful, efficient and happy to serve a client.
We will be back whenever we get the best nightly rate with breakfast included.

The hotel itself is very good. The Staff friendly and helpful. The rooms are functional and clean. The breakfast is good. BUT there is no possibility to charge an e-vehicle there. This is not acceptable in 2023.

Beautifull lobby, modern, super clean.
Spacious room and super clean.
Elevator too small, alternative there s stairs convinience enough

Actually it is Good location, close to supermarket. However since we were quite late check in , around 8.00pm.. then most of store already closed.

It's good to be back to Mercure hotel, the location is good, 10 mins walk from Biel station.
The receiption service is good too.
The room is cozy and nice with space.

Biel doesn’t have many hotel choices, mercure might be the one with best comprehensive score. We booked luxury room is on high floor, with a large balcony. Sauna is small but temperature very good. Bright lobby with free espresso machine / tea bag. And front desk receptionists were all very nice & warm. Minibar & breakfast were not included in room fee, can be improved

A charming comfortable hotel with good service in a fabulous location. Friendly and helpful staff. Only issue is during summer I would have preferred for the air conditioning to function better. The rooms can get a little hot.
