I went there already a couple of time for lunch and every time the menu and the food were really good. Ingredients are fresh and good, taste never boring, and service professional. A lunch menu costs around 25 CHF and this includes two courses - a soup or seasonal salat and the main meal which can be vegetarian or meat based. Every day they have a different menu.

Slow service. Mid afternoon takes a while. Visited again and again service in the bar exceptionally slow. Food very good…but slow

We passed by for a snack and a drink, had a really friendly waitress and some good food! Beautiful place, beautiful restaurant! ✌????

Great place where you can eat well and drink something good. The beautiful surroundings of flowers, greenery and the noise of the nearby Are, work wonders ????????????

Test dinner April 23 / group reservation for 18 Persons May 23: Real bad experience!

A I invited three friends to test the location Restaurant Dampfzentrale for a planned meeting. (dinner/group of 18 persons/professional context)
The four complete menus were o.k., but not extraordinary. Price-performance ratio is not balanced. We had aperitifs, wine, first and second plate, dessert- they did even charge the tap water.
B One week later Restaurant Dampfzentrale did contact me to inform us about an accounting error.
(As a group reservation was planned on my name, they disposed of our phone number)
Obviously, they undercharged our consumption.
Did agree to pass by personally to pay the difference of 100.- (resp. 87.- without tip).
The responsible lady was able to take the money without any pardon: neither an excuse nor an offered beverage while I was waiting for her. No "Thank you" at all for the extra-way!
Nevertheless, I left our group reservation for the next month as it was planned.
C Not enough problems with Restaurant Dampfzentrale
The day of our meeting, cool and rainy forecast.
The restaurant did contact us four (!) hours before our meeting with 18 Persons, that the table in the inner part of the Restaurant- reserved weeks in advance- would not anymore be available! But they could offer our group a table in the garden.
In consideration of the bad weather I did not accept this new "fact". Demanded an acceptable solution, our table in the inner part of the Location. The restaurant did not call me back for 2 hours (or did dial the wrong number).
So it was me to call them again - to cancel the reservation. Dampfzentrale - never again!

Could be the place to be on the Aare but the maybe too pricey for its limited or fancy menu. Please put the Flammkuchen back on the menu! It wasn't on the menu but we asked and accommodated for us - lovely! Felt bad for the chef as several other tables then asked.
Would be a place I would come back to time and time again for cocktails and Flammkuchen (and 5*s if this is the case)

In summer is more fun, because of the terrasse in front of the running Aare.
The sheep cheese is incredibly good

We were a big group, 9 people. With a really warm welcome from all the personal. Everything was extremely well done, really fast and so good.
Highly recommended if you pass to Bern ????
