We Love a good zoo, especially ones with penguins but the indoor enclosure looked tiny for how many birds were in there..

The rest of the zoo had lots of animals to see and things to do and of course plenty of overpriced places to grab a drink (no, not just because Switzerland)

Bus stop right outside the zoo for direct access to the city center.

Worth a visit.

You need at least 2,5 hours to enjoy and walk all the way through without rush. Amazing layout, easy to follow paths and wonderful displays

Being in Basel for one month gives you the opportunity to explore the city and neighborhood.
Zoo Basel is in downtown, easy access, by team or just walking.
It's a big park with a wide variety of animals and structures built for some groups of them: elephants, kangaroos, chimpanzees and a fantastic aquarium.
There's a restaurant and some other options and a store.
It deserves a visit if you're in the city.

Pretty good zoo in the middle of the city of Basel. Small parking lot, better comes early so you can also enjoy the animals being fed. The whole tour plus lunch at the zoo’s restaurant took us 3h30. Lot of kids obviously. A good family day out!

The visiting experience is very good, especially the aquarium. There are many kinds of animals, and the layout of the venue is reasonable. The restaurant in the park is very large, suitable for taking a break.

We have not been to the Zolli for many years but had fond memories. But comparing how other Zoos like Zurich modernized and expanded over the years, it feels that Basel Zoo is a bit dated. It's small in comparison and the different kind of Animals are limited.

Great zoo and easy to get to via the tram. We especially liked watching the elephants and the hippos. Lots of shade from trees throughout the park.

A lovely zoo, located in a grove with lots of shade. There are play areas for children. There are seating areas in all the paths, also suitable for couples or singles without children.
