Very friendly place, great simple food, always open and no reservation necessary. One couldn’t wish for a better local

What a great meal and super nice evening. This is a local place, in a residential neighborhood, and I happened to be staying in an Airbnb nearby while staying in Basel from the US. The proprietor does not speak English but it was no problem to communicate even though I don’t speak German. The food was wonderful. Cozy warm and comfortable. Reasonably priced.
