A great location, walking distance to all the best parts of the city center.
Very friendly and attentive staff with an excellent breakfast. There is even your choice of a welcoming drink.
My room was simple and elegant with a calming feel.
I will definitely stay here again in the future.

One of the main reasons for staying at this hotel was its proximity to the city centre (within easy walking distance) and public parking, as most city hotels in Basel don't have their own parking available.

First the good stuff: Personnel were very friendly and helpful. The reception area and the bar look very inviting (and the free welcome drink is a nice touch). The room was quite cosy and functional, with good facilities in the bathroom. For breakfast there is cheaper option available, which includes croissants and different kinds of bread. And then the full breakfast with cold cuts, cheese, etc. I appreciated to have a choice between the two, because the latter is usually too much for me, and the high price tag therefore not justified in my particular case. But that, of course, is a personal choice.
The hotel gives guests a complimentary "Basel Card", which entitles the holder to free public transport and 50% discount on walking tours and admission to museums. Although I actually didn't make use of it this time, it is a nice extra and good value for those who do.

Now, the lift and corridor on the floors feels like a bit of a letdown after seeing the reception area. I felt it looked kind of sterile and cold. What was particularly disappointing to me were the TV channel options, as not a single English-language channel (at least BBC News, for instance) is available, which I found rather surprising for a city hotel in a place like Basel, which is attracting a lot of foreign tourists and businesspeople alike. And then there is the parking, which turned out to be extremely pricey, given that the only parking available is a public parking garage. But based on my research online, there seem hardly any other options for people who bring their car and want to stay in a city hotel.
I thought that the room rates are also on the high side, given that even the small breakfast is being charged extra.

Wonderful hotel! Friendly, accommodating, hospitable people. Gemütlichkeit! Beautiful outdoor courtyard, great for relaxing and settling in. Very close to market place area with great restaurants and shopping. Rooms are comfortable and well furnished. Everyone so kind. My first time in Europe and felt very welcomed. Thank you!

Amazing hotel, really central, with new rooms, extremely nice stuff and incredible breakfast: fruits, vegetables, cheeses, Müsli etc

My stay was great. Service is excellent. Rooms (small charming room) as name suggests are small but manageable; room is also quite modern and user friendly. Breakfast is great too.

Lovely hotel, delicious breakfast buffet, the hotel staff is super friendly and welcoming. The rooms are amazing with a balcony where you can enjoy the evening sun.
No plastic water bottles, just nice Grande Tap Water to top up as much as you like in a perfect jar.
Easy to reach from Basel Train station, one bus stop only plus the public transport ticket is included which I really liked on the top of my amazing stay. I'd definitely be back.
