If you've ever watched a movie where the protagonist visited a place that was just too marvellous to be true and were thinking "Jeez, I just wish there was a place like this for real.", well, this is it. Stadtkino is absolutely lovely. My favourite movie theater and quite possibly my favourite place ever.

It is one of the few places where to watch films in its original language and subtitles (usually german-french at the same time). The place is small, and it gives a familiar atmosphere, the seats are comfortable. The people working inside are friendly. I especially liked to see how the habitual people is taking this moment with calmness, and some of them with a glass of wine which they bring into the hall. There are no noises/smellings of people eating around, which is a great thing! The prices of this cinema are slightly cheaper than the common ones. At least in this case it was 12 CHF/person. They offer monographics on film directors, a good thing for cinema lovers.

Another great indie theater. More upscale and arty, with a friendly staff and charming lounge area.
