Rewriting my review as this has been wrongly addressed by the owner.

I am a weekly enjoyer of the Markthalle and am Italian myself so have some kind of idea how to eat and cook pasta.

The time I tried SiChef I just regretted have been there, as the pasta was just not edible. Nothing to do with al dente. The Sauce same thing, acid (guess old). Once I have tried to flag that to the owner he just arrogantly denied everything. Beware of some Italian “restaurants” abroad, this is a typical trap.

Just like a hidden gem in Italy but located in Basel. Must visit in the old market food court for a healthy and delicious pasta.

Excellent, authentic Italian food freshly prepared. The chef is also very flexible, e.g. if you want something from the menu but vegetarian or vegan. Super friendly and efficient. Try the “orecchiette alle cime di rapa”, it tastes delicious.

Trovandomi per lavoro in Svizzera mi sono imbattuto in questo ristorante.
Incredibile per qualità, fantasia sapori.....complimenti, meglio di casa, da ogni piatto traspare passione e piacere nel proprio lavoro e nei propri piatti.
Tornerò certamente per respirare aria di casa
