We were very pleased with our stay. We had 2 adjoining rooms which worked well for us. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. Our stay was during a heatwave and we found the air conditioning more than adequate to keep us cool and comfortable. Breakfast set us up well for the day.

Although it's close to the railway station it was an extremely quiet area and hotel. It is within walking distance to the city centre or hop on a tram ( stop is very close)

Excellent location at 5 minutes walk from BASEL SBB station even without crossing a road. Metro stop at the doorstep and with the Basel card provided free at the time of check in, transport in all buses and metro is very convenient. Excellent staff and even provided packed breakfast when we had an early morning trip. Love to stay here when we come again. Recommended.

Fine for a one-night stop, and good breakfast (but costs 20Chf extra). Room is basic but comfortable and good bathroom. Within close walking distance of the station.

Deplorable desk service

The service at the front desk was extremelly rude, leaving us wet from the pouring rain on the side waiting and attending customers already hosted in the hotel even thought we had been waiting in front of the desk for 20 minutes and the customers came after us. One example was that he even left the desk and went to the bar to serve drinks to a couple that arrived after us.

The manager was enfuriated and unpolite and would not let me speak. And when asked if I could talk he screamed 'No!' at me. So we cancelled our booking and found another hotel with nice stuff, which swiped of the frustration caused by the manager at the Ibis hotel.

Worst experience to be welcomed to for a leisure trip.

Everything was great, room is clean and staff is friendly. Unfortunately, if you're a light sleeper, trains can be a problem being so close to the station
